THANE: A 20-year-old man caused inconvenience to lakhs of commuters after he climbed one of the overhead wire masts near Thane station, forcing authorities to shut power supply for nearly half an hour and bringing evening peak hour services to a halt on the slow corridor of the Central Railway. The incident was reported at 4.50pm. As the man was perched on a crucial pole that supplied current to both the slow lines, the authorities decided to switch off the power. The Thane fire brigade finally managed to bring the man down. A CR official said, "Around 20 services were cancelled because of this incident." Trains were running late by 25-30 minutes.
