With the recent release of Gangs of Wasseypur, Reema Sen returns to the silver screen after a long break. After doing merely three films in Bollywood, she chose to get married to a Delhi-based businessman, ShivKaran Singh. After marriage she was busy housekeeping in Delhi. Though she had announced earlier that she would say NO to cinema, Reema has accepted a special role in Anurag Kashyap’s experimental movie, Gangs of Wasseypur, in which she plays Manoj Vajpayee’s wife. She has a strong appearance in the movie. This is the first time that she is doing a such a role. Before this she was seen as part of lead cast in all the three movies: Chal Chala Chal, Malamal Weekly and Hum Ho Gaye Aapke. Perhaps she is trying her luck for the second time in Bollywood, though in a new way. Through her role in Gangs of Wasseypur, she has tried to establish that she can fit well in art-influenced characters also. Now only time will tell how easily she attracts the directors and producers for some good roles. After the successful release of Gangs of Wasseypur, Reema is working on a new film with Rahul Dholakia.
According to the industry sources she is ready to take up new ventures, but when asked she refused to comment. n
