Aamir Khan’s starrer and Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial venture Dangal is all set to shatter all box office records in India. The movie has already completed its two weeks journey on the box office and reported phenomenal performance across the globe so far. Surprisingly it is still heading with excellent pace and surpassed the lifetime total of collections of Salman Khan‘s two highest grossing movies Sultan (302 crores) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320.34 crores). Now only PK is ahead of Dangal in terms of total collection.
On the 15th day of its phenomenal run Dangal crossed Rs. 320 crore mark. The film is based on the real life of former wrestling champion Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters (world class wrestlers) Geeta Phogat & Babita Kumari, Dangal has very impactful and inspiring story, which has impressed all the viewers. The entire cast has given brilliant performance and is being appreciated by everyone. From critics also, the movie has received super positive reviews, which has kept its hype maintained on box office.
In the opening week, Walt Disney Pictures’ recent presentation Dangal reported tremendous occupancy through out and did the business of 197.54 crores, with 107.01 crores of weekend and 90.53 crores of weekdays. The juggernaut did not stop here in the second week too, the movie remained as steady as rock and registered the business of 115.96 crores, which included 73.70 crores of weekend and 42.26 crores of weekdays.
After 2 weeks, total collection of Dangal was recorded as 313.50 crores on domestic box office and 166.07 crores from international market on a wonderful note. Now it has entered in the third week and faced slight drop on its 3rd Friday than previous day. As per the report it has minted the amount of 8.21 crores* on 15th day and made its 15 days domestic total as 321.71 crores*. The movie is positively expected to surpass Aamir Khan‘s own PK (340.80 crores) and become the highest grosser of all time in Bollywood by this weekend.
